What They Are:
Small sores which appear on the inside of the lips and cheeks are referred to as mouth ulcers or cancker sores. They are grey to white in color and can also sometimes develop underneath the tongue or on the edge of the tongue. Mouth ulcers appear quickly. They can be very painful and extremely bothersome. Most heal within a week, but they can return between 4 and 12 weeks later. They appear more often in women than in men, often during the menstrual cycle.

What Causes Them:
